How do toddlers Communicate?

When we think about how we communicate, we mostly focus on verbal forms of communicating, but communication happens in so many other ways too.

Communication happens in many ways and children are born observing everything, they are stimulated by themselves, others and their environment. Children experiment with these things to develop control of their physical self and their ability to more efficiently get what they want, Language development is a long process from slowly gathering skills and understanding of this complex concept through sounds having meaning, to achieving word formation not just on cognitive & intellectual levels but also physical development of the fine motor skills to move the tongue & lips to form the right sounds. By the time a child reaches the age of 3 they will have gained a vocabulary of approximately 1000 words.

As part of the process word formulation takes practice and we don’t always get it right first time.

There are always those moments where only a parent can explain what their child wants or is talking about.
